Coupons-How to Get Them, Extreme Couponing and Deals

The TLC Extreme Couponing Craze is in full swing! Since the new shows aired last week I have been asked so many questions about:
-Extreme Couponing in general
-Can you do Extreme Couponing in Canada?
-Where do you get coupons?
-Where do you find deals, samples and freebies?

For an explanation about Extreme Couponing and if it is possible in Canada read the article I wrote recently.

Where do you get coupons?

Sign up at Livingwell.ca(Johnson & Johnson) to get the latest great coupons and free samples. I use a lot of the Livingwell coupons for "Extreme Couponing" Canadian style. I have purchased large 120's size bottles of Motrin on sale for $5.99 and use a $5 Livingwell coupon and only paid 99 cents per bottle!

Tear pads in store- I get a lot of my coupons in the store from tear pads on the shelf. If you shop at Loblaws stores they usually have a Coupon Zone board near the entrance. During the holidays there are usually small recipe booklets in the baking aisle with some good coupons for things like oats, flour and baking goods.

Inserts- Check out your local newspaper for coupon inserts like P&G BrandSaver and Smart source.

On-line Some of the places I look on line for coupons are MySavings.com BrandSaver, Save.ca ,Coupon Click.ca, Websaver.ca, Grocery Alerts.ca,

On Products- Keep your eyes open while shopping. You will sometimes find coupons right on the products.

Trading- I sometimes trade my excess coupons on-line or with friends and family.

Email or write companies- I have done this recently with good results. Most companies will send you out some high value coupons or a few $1 off coupons. Remember, every little bit helps.

Where to find deals

Flyers My first stop to look for deals is store flyers. When my flyers arrive on Thursday morning I lay them all out and write a list of what I need that is on sale. When I'm finished my list I match it up with coupons I have and paper clip them together so I'm ready to shop.

Clearance Sections Most stores have a clearance section. I sometimes purchase things in this section, combine it with a coupon and get it Free.
You can find a lot of deals, samples and freebies on-line

chapters.indigo.ca Chapters has some great "Deal of the Week" specials. I purchased my Flip camera from them and got free shipping because my order was over $25.

Daily Deals at Sears.ca Sears offers a few products everyday at a large discount. Check out the Sears Outlet too. It is updated often with clearance items.

Check out Daily Deal sites such as WagJag and Groupon. I have purchased several of these deals and saved a lot of money. Click here to read my post about it.

P&G Brandsampler and Brandsampler for Men. These just became available April 11th for a limited time. Click here to read more
