Clearasil #PerfectaWash Review

The Clearasil PerfectaWash Kit

I was recently chosen to review the new Clearasil PerfectaWash system. I was glad to do it because my girls are 11 and 12 1/2 years old.  Using acne products is a daily occurrence at my house.

I was lucky when I was a teen, I never suffered from serious acne.   I did get some small pimples on my forehead and nose but it was manageable.  Back then I used Clearasil face wash and the "new" Clearasil pads (Yes, I'm that old)

When my older daughter turned 11, I noticed that she was starting to get more serious breakouts on her T zone area (forehead and nose) and on her cheeks.  It was then that I knew we needed to have a chat about hygiene and acne products.  Regular soap wasn't cutting it anymore.

My younger daughter just turned 11 and while not as severe as her sister, she was starting to experience some acne issues as well.

I think it's really important to establish a face washing regimen and to teach the kids about the products they are using:
  • What's it for
  • How to use it
  • When to use it
  • any special directions on how to use the product (avoid eye contact, ect)
The girls were using several products that were cluttering up the bathroom.  We have face cleansers and acne gel and acne pads and acne masks.  Needless to say, with two girls using these products the dollars were starting to add up.  Instead of scanning my weekly flyers looking for cheese on sale it was now my mission to find sales on acne products.
PerfectaWash Refill
When we received our Clearasil PerfectaWash kit there was big excitement.  My older daughter just started a new break out on her cheeks so this was the perfect time to try it out.  The kit is very easy to use.  It comes complete with:
  • Touch-free automatic dispenser delivers the perfect dose of Rapid Action Acne Face Wash
  •   2 x 150ml  Face Wash refills (100 doses each) in Superfruit Splash and Soothing Plant Extracts
  •  three AA batteries
After much arguing discussion the girls decided to try the soothing plant extracts wash first.  My daughters give it a thumbs up for being easy to use and smelling good.  The  2% salicylic acid was strong enough to clear up the acne but not dry out their skin.  It only took a few washings to notice a big improvement in this newest breakout.

Can you spot the Clearasil PerfectaWash Dispenser?
Do you know what I also like?  The dispenser prevents the kids from using too much product and and looks good on my vanity!  I keep it there as a reminder to wash every night before bed.

My younger daughter has started her own face cleaning regimen (so she can be like her sister) and I have also noticed an improvement in the small pimples and blackheads she had on her nose.

The only problem we have now is getting the girls to share the bathroom mirror!
