NiagaraJet Boat- Soak up the Fall Colours!

My husband has always wanted to take a ride on the Whirlpool Jet Boats ever since we met (I was from the Niagara area) including when we were on our Honeymoon in NOTL.  When I was recently asked if I would like to experience the jet boats I could not say no!

Last weekend the family and I packed up the Jeep and headed down to Niagara-on-the-lake to go on a Jet Boat tour of the Niagara Gorge. I opted for the dry dome tour because well, I'm not the most adventurous in my family.
Dry Dome Jet Boat

If you like to live on the wild side you can try out the open jet boat~

We really enjoyed the tour that takes you down the gorge.  We were supplied with headsets and were told many interesting facts about the area as we were jetting toward the whirlpool rapids. You also get great views of the Canadian/US power plants and the geology of the Niagara gorge.

Here are some class two rapids~
During our tour the Captain did a maneuver called a Hamilton which was a 360 degree turn.  It's the equivalent of a a donut in a car but with a jet boat..... in rapids.  It was thrilling, exciting and awesome all at the same time!

Soak up fall colours on a Niagara River boat tour
Passengers can choose between fast or slow aboard jets boats or paddle wheeler
NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ont. (September 25, 2015) – As fall adds a splash of colour to the Niagara Gorge, adventure lovers can literally ‘soak up’ the beauty of the season.
Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours will be running its adrenaline-fueled jet boat tours through the turbulent white waters of the Niagara River until the end of October. Visitors looking for a more leisurely boat tour can go for a ride on the Niagara Belle, a fully restored New Orleans-style paddle wheeler.
“We’ve got passengers covered whether they want to go fast or slow,” says company president John Kinney. “There’s no more exciting way to go on a fall colour tour of Niagara than in one of our jet boats. But we’ve also organized gourmet lunch tours aboard the Belle for anyone who wants to see the same amazing scenery at a more tranquil pace.”
Niagara Sunset Cruises, a sister company to Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours, is offering special fall colour tours aboard the Niagara Belle on the Lower Niagara River. Tours will depart Queenston, featuring a harvest-inspired lunch, historical commentary and activities for kids on the lower deck. Fall colour tours run Fridays and Saturdays throughout October, departing at 11:30 a.m. and returning at 1:45 p.m. Booking details are available here.
“The scenery of the Niagara River and gorge are spectacular to begin with, but when the leaves turn colour and it lights up in the fall, it becomes even more beautiful,” Kinney says.
